Mike brought home some gluten cookies the other day, and I instantly wanted what he had. No fair! I want cookies! Obviously I made them. Continue reading
Baby P’s BFF
This is Bear. Bear is a GUND bear that was a gift from one of Baby P’s grandmothers (he has 3!).
Have you tried the gluten free products at Aldi?
I forget about Aldi a lot. Have you been? It’s a very different model of grocery store than we’re used to. You pay a quarter to rent a cart (which you get back when you return it), you have to bring your own bags, everything is merchandised in pallet drops (like Costco) and almost everything is Aldi brand (like Trader Joe’s). Their prices are insanely cheap, and they have their own gluten free line, Live G Free. Baby P and I ran in today to grab something for lunch and came out with these sandwich pockets. They were $2.69!!
Seventeen Months
I had grand ambitions to update this often, then I didn’t. But let’s try harder.
Little P is 17 months old now.
He is a very stompy walker.
He has 13 teeth, loves to make animal sounds, watch Sesame Street (which he calls cuh cuh), and anything with wheels. He loves putting crayons in bottles. He loves water, or any liquid. Continue reading
Garlic Scape and Kale Pesto
It’s June, which means garlic scapes! Scapes are the shoots that garlic plants send up to flower. By cutting these off, the energy of the plant is redirected to growing the bulb, and you get a better head of garlic. Scapes are tasty, and I’ve been chopping them up and adding them to veggies. Today I used the rest to make pesto, with basil and kale, since I have a bunch of both.
Next time I may leave out the basil, since it’s overpowered by the strong garlicky scapes.
birth story
This little dude is three months old today. These last three months feel like a blur, both like we’ve had him forever and just a few minutes. I don’t remember what life was like before he was born, and can’t believe how full my heart is.
