I got a new toy! We went to a wedding recently and they had an instant camera for their photo booth option, and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. After the wedding I did some research, and settled on the Instax Mini 50S by Fujifilm.

I chose the 50S because it has a self timer, and I wanted to be able to use it to take family portraits.

It’s been pretty fabulous so far. The self timer is pretty standard, you press the self timer button and a little light blinks and then takes the picture.

The camera was $86, and two packs of film (20 prints) are between $9 and $12. Not super cheap, but it’s really nice to be able to have pictures instantly to put in albums or hang up or send to family.

The pictures are small, but perfect size to slip into the back of my phone case. I put the one of my guys (above) in mine.

I love the high contrast, dreamy quality of the prints. I’m very excited to bring it to Maine this summer!
